Animated map of NY Industrialization Bans and Moratoria

Lansing resident Roger Hopkins just put together this nice animation of the ban and moratorium maps I’ve been updating for the past year. You can really see how the home rule movement (absent of a real statewide ban) has kicked in.

Update on NY Bans and Moratoria

Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2012 7:30 PM
Subject: Waterloo moratorium voted in this week!

Hooray for Waterloo’s Town Board (in Seneca County), who voted in a 1-year moratorium. Thanks to Jan Quarles for the news…I knew the vote was coming on Tuesday night, but was waiting, waiting…

Attached are today’s map updates. We’ll have a permanent link for this newest one up on FracTracker soon (http://www.fractracker.org/fractracker-maps/ny-moratoria/)
By Jan’s tally, we’re now at 100 bans and moratoria across NYS!
